Zhiyuan artificial intelligence research

The Beijing Academy of Artificial Intelligence (BAAI) was officially established today at the opening ceremony of the 2018 China (Beijing) transnational technology transfer conference. Wang zhigang, party secretary and minister of the ministry of science and technology, and Chen jining, deputy secretary and mayor of Beijing municipal party committee attended the meeting.

Mayor Chen jining said in his speech that Beijing zhiyuan artificial intelligence research institute is an important new research and development institution that Beijing is striving to build after the brain science and brain research center and the quantum information science research institute.The institute will bring together Peking University, tsinghua university, Chinese academy of sciences, baidu, bytedance and other dominant units in the field of artificial intelligence, adopt new scientific research organization forms and talent introduction and training mode, and promote the key breakthroughs in the development direction of artificial intelligence, theories, methods, tools, systems and other aspects.Beijing will bring government, corporate and social data to the platform to build new open source AI tools, integrate computing power from universities and large enterprises, and open it to all kinds of AI research and development institutions, welcoming AI researchers from around the world.

Xu qiang, director of Beijing municipal commission of science and technology, released Beijing zhiyuan action plan.Under the guidance and support of the ministry of science and technology and the Beijing municipal government, the plan is jointly proposed by government departments, enterprises, universities and institutes. It is the top-level design to serve the development of artificial intelligence in Beijing and an action plan to pool the wisdom of all parties.

Beijing intelligent source action plan is an integrated and open system, centering on artificial intelligence open service platform, joint laboratory construction, talent gathering and training, academic exchange and other directions.

With Shared data, intelligent computing programming framework and computing infrastructure as the core, we will promote open source of algorithms, build innovation ecology and build an open service platform of Beijing intelligent source.

Promote original innovation and build high-level joint laboratories. Based on national, provincial and minister-level science and technology innovation bases or independent laboratories in the field of artificial intelligence, the Beijing intelligent source joint laboratory is jointly established, with research teams and projects focusing on major fundamental theoretical issues in the field of artificial intelligence, to carry out interdisciplinary and collaborative innovation breakthroughs and serve the national development strategy of artificial intelligence.

Train and introduce both, gather high-end talents. Looking internationally, we will pool the basic research and innovation resources in the field of artificial intelligence, and introduce and cultivate the top AI talent team with global influence.

We will strengthen industry-university-research cooperation, hold a global summit on artificial intelligence, and build Beijing into a hub linking the world's artificial intelligence industry and academic resources.

According to the deployment of Beijing zhiyuan action plan, Beijing municipal commission of science and technology and haidian district government promoted the establishment of Beijing zhiyuan artificial intelligence research institute.Institute affiliated to Beijing university, tsinghua university, Chinese academy of sciences, baidu, kuang, Meituan comments, millet, byte beating and other advantages of artificial intelligence units, the construction of open service platform, artificial intelligence summit, coordination to promote joint laboratory and personnel training, adopts the international standard, flexible, independent operation mechanism, implementation institute "travel light" "faster". Zhang hongjiang, chief technology officer of Microsoft Asia Pacific r&d group and source code capital investment partner, served as the first chairman, and huang tiejun, dean of computer department of Peking University served as the first President .The research institute will give full play to the role of enterprises, while the government will focus on formulating policies, creating an environment and providing services.
